i hope you all had a nice memorial day weekend. the weather was beautiful here! (did any of you try that dessert i posted about? i'd love to know what you thought!) i was reservation free the past two days so i took a trip with my mom to visit my brother and his family in their new house. it was such a fun trip, but of coures, it went way to quick.
i hope you got a chance to see sarah's house this past saturday. remember i did a post about her amazing bathroom? well this past week she did the master bedroom, and for a moment i thought she was designing it for me. i'm a sucker for anything orange, green and yellow.
but then i realized she wasn't. oh well, someday... (maybe). anyway, she was inspired by this amazing quilt with this bold yellow flowers she found at a flea market.
all the fabrics she used were stunning. ikat on the curtains. a huge floral on the chairs and bed pillows. all with oranges, yellows and greens and a splash of blue.
an antique four poster bed. beautiful vintages lamps painted orange.
antique fireplace mantel with marble surround. and i LOVE the way the pictures are hung above the mantel - off centered. so different, but it works perfectly!
and vintage furniture to boot! i love every inch of it. wouldn't change a thing. sarah, can you come to my house? please!

Oooh Sarah, you always make me question my design choices! After seeing a room like that, I long to live in a warm, cozy cottage instead of a white and breezy house!
But I know you don't need Sarah! You already have wonderful style~
I adore her, and am inspired by every room she designs. I totally agree on the beauty of the fabrics - my biggest takeaway from her is to find a fabric you love to start a room. I'm planning to try that.
(And, I love the fireplace. Seriously drooling.)
