glitter trees. complete and fabulous!

i hit up my local goodwill this weekend to find some candlesticks to make those amazing glitter trees i showed you on friday.

i found some silver candlesticks, which i liked the way they were, but thought they'd be best sprayed white. i also found this ceramic tree, which again was fine the way it was, but i thought it'd amazing sprayed white.

i sprayed everything with a primer, then used a white lacquer paint over top that.

i freakin love this little tree know! who knew!? in my kitchen i have a cabinet with glass doors. i painted the back of the cabinet black and this is where is store all my white serving platters.

and my trees ... i was hoping to do a several different colors,  but my access to craft supplies is limited to walmart (i know, it's terrible, don't get me started). so, the only two colors i really liked were silver and red. so that's what i got!

i think they turned out great! i'm not sure where i'm putting them yet, probably in the kitchen, but i think they'll look great anywhere. the little white and red glass orbs are available in the gift shop along with the moss and pine.

happy monday!

  4. Oh those look great! I never thought of spray painting the tree. I think I'll have to try this when I see something but don't like the color.

I can't believe Wal-Mart is your only option, you poor boy. You should take up a craft drive. We could all send you something fun!

  7. Love the tree, what inspiration!
I saw one of those sets of village buildings in ceramic that was less than stellar at my Sal. Army this week and could not think of how I could make them look better. Painting in miniature I think would not be my 'thing'. You could make them all white like this tree as well!
I did buy a brass [not my taste] bendy arm light fixture that worked, AND has 3 light settings... applied some trusty Ant. White spray paint and it's sooo cute!
