ReplyDeletenext purchase: the 50mm 1.8 prime (fixed) lens. at only $100 on amazon, it offers a gorgeous depth of field, and with the wide open aperture, allows for shooting in low light at controllable shutter speeds. and no, i'm not a canon rep or salesperson ;) cheers!

ReplyDeleteI can totally relate, I just got a macro lens for Christmas and am shooting 3-400 shots a day of my dog alone. ELP ME! I have no idea how to use this lens much less the camera I borrowed (stole) from my husband. I need to take a class or a least read a tutorial as to what all these bells, whistles and buttons do.

ReplyDeleteI treated myself to a Canon EOS Rebel XS for my birthday a couple months ago, and I'm still learning. But that shutter sound - you nailed it - it's so captivating. It makes me feel so good to hear that click, like even if this photo doesn't come out exactly the way I want it, maybe the next one will...
