if you see this chair ...

it's a sign. so, this is the second or third time i've seen this chair in the past couple weeks and i freakin love it!

i think the one i saw previously was stained wood with a calmer pattern on the cushions. i can't remember where i seen it? probably one of many magazines.

if anyone out there in 'blog world' knows where this chair is from or where i can buy one like it i would really appreciate any information. you understand ... this is a need, not a want. (who am i kidding, it's both!)

(this image is from november's better homes and gardens - page 72)

inspired by ... john willey

i've always struggled trying to define my 'sense of style'. i'm not country, but love rustic things. i'm not modern, but i love bright colors and clean lines. i love a designed look, but it also needs to feel like home.  i think i like too much and that's where i get confused.  does this happen to you? am i making sense?

anyway, a couple weeks ago a blog i follow (and i can't remember which) posted some images from a new york based designer, john willey. and while i don't love absolutely everything about his design, his work really inspires me.

so these first three images are a tad bit too 'fussy' for me. but i love the colors and the way they work together. remember i just painted my hall green and introduced some blue (which, by the way, is still not finished ... slowly but surely)? sorta reminds me of the picture below.

i'm also a huge fan of that lime-y green color so that's probably while i love his desgin too. what about you, do you prefer white walls? or color on your walls?

i think the next three images are from the same house, a beach house. they are a lot more causal and less 'fussy' which i love. check out that hall color ... lime green again!

and i'm sure you've all seen this chandelier at one point or another. it's probably one of my favorite fixtures ever. some day, some house ... i WILL have this chandelier.

beautiful right?

so, even though this post has nothing to do with halloween i hope you have a great one no matter what your plans.

comfort and joy

as you can see i'm still running a little slow. just when i thought my fuel tank was just about empty i ending up losing the battle to a cold i have been fighting for a couple weeks. i hope its just about run it course, but with these things, you just never know.

so today i headed for some comfort food and whipped up myself a grilled cheese sandwich. i know, i should be eating soup, but i really don't care for soup. chicken noodle soup is probably one of my least favorite things. although i do enjoy most cream based soups. especially my sister-in-law's red pepper soup. that's one i'll never pass up.

even though all i want to do is nap, i've been somewhat productive by pricing hundreds (literally) of ornaments and decorations for the shop.

yesterday i popped a movie into my computer and sat for two hours at the dining room table making price tags and pricing more things than i can count. with my dayquil in arms reach, it was actually an enjoyable afternoon.

the weather has been quite sporadic around here these days. tuesday it was in the 70s. then it rained cats and dogs. now its cold again and so windy its pointless to try and keep up with leaf clean up. there is also snow predicted in the 10 day forecast. no wonder i'm sick!

do anyone know where the summer went? and fall? i think i blinked and missed it.

buh. nanas.

hey ya'll.

wow. i don't know where to begin. the past couple weeks have been quite intense for me. sorry about that. i wish i could share all my thoughts and feelings but since this blog is, in many ways, connected to my business i can't.

in short, things have been very busy. i think for the past two weeks my days began at five am and ended around nine pm. some would say i'm exaggerating, but i'm honestly not. i don't want to complain as i'm really happy that i've been so busy and extremely thankful to all the wonderful people that brought me business, i'm just tired. i hope that's understandable.

while i probably could have taken the time to check in with all you lovely blog folks, i honestly just couldn't find the energy and motivation. you understand that right? we've all been ther. while things are still busy around here i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

so, i think i can honestly say for sure (even though i've said it before) i'm back. at least a little more regularly. i do really appreciated the couple of you that sent me a message or comment saying that you missed me. that was amazing to hear. and just so you know, i missed you too.

and yes, i do have a christmas tree up in my gift shoppe (two actually) ... and yes, there are some crazy looking roosters on it ... and yes, i do love them.
