ducks and jam

lordy, lordy. things have been crazy around here. is your summer going as quickly as mine? it's hard to believe we've already passed the fourth of july. it's like the beginning of the end. but, i must say, even though it's been a bit busy, my summer as been quite enjoyable and the weather has been just as great! which is quite shocking.

last week i cooked up another batch of jam. strawberry lemonade.

let me tell you, its quite delicious. especially warmed up and served over ice cream. yum.

i basically used the standard recipe for strawberry jam and added fresh lemon juice, lemon zest and a bottle of simply lemonade. i'd give you the recipe but i really don't have one. this is how my jams usually come about.

last week i got a couple orders for the gift shoppe. included were these adorable mercury glass ducks.

a bit of whimsy is a must in any house. don't you think?

i may just need to keep a set of these guys for myself.

  7. Dude, I don't even like jam but the pictures and flavors always make it look appetizing. Or maybe it's the cute packaging...I'm a sucker for good packaging.

Meanwhile, I think I'm going to save my pennies and come visit. I'm tired of looking at your breakfasts and gift shop goodies and not being able to have either.
