Yesterday I got a very special delivery…
… a box full of tulips that had bloomed and withered. Leftovers from a local store that didn’t sell before their untimely death.
No problem! I’ll take them. As they say, “ones man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”
I have two little rows of dirt that lead up to the front porch of my little inn and these tulips will line that path just perfectly next spring.
So, I grabbed my scissors and trimmed off all of the leaves and stems.
I spaced out my the tulip pots evenly between my already sprouting daylilies and started planting.
Since each pot already had a good root system in place I just kept everything together and planted the hole shabang. Besides, I like when tulips come up in little clumps.
I spread a little leftover mulch over everything and made a little wish that these beauties come up next year.
Which is hard, because I’m the type of person that likes to see instant results.
And the lonely dozen of tulips I currently have are in desperate need of some tulip friends.
I told them they’ll just have to wait until next year.
I’m so happy for my dear friend and fellow blogger Donna of Funky Junk Interiors.
Donna was recently the stylist and set designer behind a music video which premiered yesterday.
I’m also loving this new cover from glee. I’ve honestly listened to it 100 times today. Does anyone else do that when you find a new song you just love?
