90% Complete

I honestly cannot believe how fast the days are going. This past weekend, and the two days since, are a complete blur. Thankfully I managed to complete about 90% of my weekend to-do list. Thank goodness. Having the Gift Shoppe almost ready before the end of August is a huge bonus. I’m even thinking about hosting a little “Fall Open House” next weekend. I know it’s early, but I’m really excited about how things are looking and I want people to see the product displays in their prime.

I find my shoppe really difficult to photograph due to the lighting and abundance of products. It’s not styled or decorated like a house. It looks fabulous in person, but tends to look cluttered in photos. Maybe Shannon can vouch for me in the comments. Either way, I hope you get a general idea of the space. What do you think?

I also made some good progress on my three secret projects. Let’s call them The Big Three. Hopefully, I’ll have more information about one or two of those next week. All right, back to work. Oh, and needless to say, this weekend I completely failed to do more prep work in my room. Don’t worry. It’s on the schedule for next week. I’ll get there.

  1. I will vouch for the amazing merchandise and how perfect it all looks together. I may have to change my Labor Day plans to come to St Mary’s instead of Cape May!

  2. I think it photographed just beautifully! I so wish I was close enough to pop over there and see it in person! Well done :)

  3. How about we trade my vouching for the fabulosity of your shoppe in exchange for some inside trading secrets in regards to the Big 3. I’m pretty much dying to know, so um yeah, get on that ;)

But seriously, the best part of your shoppe is that it is filled to the brim with pretty shiny things…like everywhere you look, there’s something awesome that you somehow missed. I happen to love it. And you. And everything you do. #originalIBCfangirl

  4. Michael, I am seriously considering opening a shop of my own in Texas. I would love to hear any advice you have. Where do you purchase the products for your shop, did you have alot of start up cost, how do you determine how much to charge for your items, how do you decide what to buy… anything you would be willing to share. Your shop looks amazing!

  5. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY BRIMMING WITH EYE CANDY!! I LOVE YOUR SHOP AND BLOG!…YOU ARE INDEED BLESSED AND GIFTED!

  6. I can see why it would be hard to photograph a space like that, but you did a fabulous job of it! Honestly, it looks oh-so inviting. Hope you have a perfectly wonderful fall!

  7. This is the type of shop you walk in and the smells of sweet potpourri fill the air…you want to look at every little item on the shelves…congrats and wishing you sooo much success….xo

  8. Thank god I live overseas–I could totally spend way too much money and time in your shop! Lovely displays & lovely photos <3

  9. You know…it would be wonderful if your Shoppe items were available in a very charming Etsy shop…that way, all this awesomeness could reach the Deep South where I live! LOL But seriously though, given the opportunity, I would probably buy half of the store!

  10. Michael.I love the pictures of your shop.I wish I lived closer also.I agree with the lady about the charming Etsy shop you need to set up.I called you after Christmas a couple years ago looking for those mercury glass ducks, you sold the last one a little before I called.I was so dissapointed.I see they are back on pinterest again.Do you have them again??I sure hope so.I was so surpised when you answered the phone that day.I believe it was a Sunday. You must work alot this time of year..It shows..everything looks great…………..s
