A Hot Christmas Mess

Well folks, today’s the day. My Gift Shoppe turned ChristmasShoppe is opening at noon. The photos above were taken on Wednesday. A hot “Christmas” mess. This year I gave myself so much time this year to make the switch from fall to Christmas, but somehow I still ran out of time. Even staying up until 2 a.m. the past two nights didn’t help. Though, I will admit I was significantly less stressed. Either way, right now I’m about 90% finished. Things in the shoppe are in order, and I’m comfortable actually opening the door. (Please just don’t look in my dining room.) I will use today and the rest of the weekend to edit, move things around, and continue to add merchandise. I’m pushing myself to wrap up this project by Monday. In fact, I have to. There are a lot of other projects calling my name. I could really use an extra day each week. Anyone else? I’m not not sure were the time goes.

Anyway, back to work I go. Hopefully, I will remember to snap some pictures on Sunday so I can give you a little preview of my shoppe sometime next week.

I’m also so excited and completely honored to be posting over at the new blog from Broadway+Thresher today. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the creators, David and Andrew, via FOLK Magazine. They are two extremely talented guys. Their new publication, “Broadway+Thresher will focus on individuals, couples, and families expressing their identity as artists, trendsetters, and innovators living boldly and without compromise in non-urban settings. Not only will Broadway+Thresher focus on the rural lifestyle, but also the cutting edge of architecture, art, food and artisanal manufacturing and the untold stories of the people who have made it possible.” Head on over to the site to read all about the guys, the publication, and their team. I can’t wait to see what they create!  You can check out mypost on their blog here. My posts will feature some of my favorite Etsy shops and products. They will appear weekly, or as long as the guys will have me. Thanks so much, David and Andrew! Congratulations and best of luck to you both!

Have a fab weekend, friends!

  1. Wow Michael, you have some really amazing stuff in your shop. If I didn’t live on the other side of the country, I would be there waiting for the doors to open!

  2. Michael, it is so much fun to watch “behind the scenes” as you set up your Christmas Shoppe! Do you get a lot of local shoppers, or is it mainly for your guests? Just curious. It is so pretty! Wish I lived closer…..
