IBC’s Favorite Ornaments // Starbucks Giveaway

Have no fear! Day 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas can be found here!

I love getting ready and having friends and family over for the holidays. Well, as much as I hate to say this, I don’t think my dreams of a felty Christmas are going to come true this year. I had the best of intentions, but itís starting to become†very stressful, and when that happens, I know I need to cool it.

Has this ever happened to you? You got†a really great plan or idea, but you just couldn’t find the time, energy, for money to bring it to life. Such a bummer!

Regardless of how my tree turns out, I am seriously in love with so many ornaments on the market this year! Wow. While Iíve barely even scratched the surface, I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you today. Maybe they will inspire a new look for your tree or tie in with the look you already have going.

Take a gander at these wonderful ornaments.

Beautiful stuff, right? This seriously makes me want to have a tree in every room of my house.  I suspect that by the age of fifty, after going through several Christmas-tree phases, I most likely will. But thereís nothing wrong with that, is there?  As long as I donít end up on that hoarder show as the man with a hundred Christmas trees.

What do you like best about spending time with your family during the holidays? Curious minds want to know!

  1. I love best the days when we don’t have plans and can sit and read or play games. This week is NOT one that will have much time for relaxing. I have 30-some people coming to my house this Saturday and I am feeling a little pressure :)

  2. one and nine on the first group of ornaments my favs. Nine already sold out! All I have left is to put up the tree and done! Can relax and enjoy the rest of my shopping. And when I say my shopping, I mean buy one thing for somebody else and then I allways seem to find one thing for me too!

  3. i like having the extra time to simply hang out — watch christmas movies, make coffee, remember good times, eat delicious food. it feels like a luxury to just be together without any set plans :)

  4. I just love having time to spend with my family. I live almost nine hours away so holidays are special times to get together to just BE! These last couple years are even more fun now that grandbabies have come along! Christmas through the eyes of a child is wonderful!

  5. I love to spend time with my family at the holidays because everyone is in a festive mood and thankful for the many blessings that we share

  6. My family is pretty small. My mom has one sister, she had two kids, and I have my brother. My dad’s family didn’t live in the same town as us, so our family gatherings were usually pretty quiet. So my aunt started the tradition of a big Christmas Eve open house for friends who were like our extended family. My parents took that over about 10 years ago and it turned into an even bigger, crazier party. I now live several states away from my family, so my husband and I have introduced the tradition to our friends. Every year our party gets a little bit bigger, and many of our friends now look forward to it every year. It warms my heart that I am able to carry on our family tradition for so many others!

  7. The kids excitement is probably my favorite! And then the traditions that we continue. Pomander balls, cookie baking, special dinners, and we always make those applesauce cinnamon ornaments you posted over the weekend! Just love them!

  8. My husband and I live in TX while our entire families live on the east coast. So, during the holidays we really enjoy being able to spend that much needed quality time with those we love and haven’t seen for far too long. Even as adults, my mom buys us all matching Christmas P.J’s (hubbys included) and it’s always a riot.

  9. Since we all live so far away from each other this is a time to sit and catch up with each other. It’s a great time to talk about what is going on in our lives. We have 4 generations that get together so we have lots to talk about. The females in the family try to schedule an afternoon of shopping too! Lots of fun and family time for young and old.

  10. Love baking cookies with my kiddos over the holidays and sharing with friends. ( Starbucks goes great with X-mas cookies! )

  11. My favorite thing about spending time with my family around the holidays is actually decorating the tree together. My mom kept all of our ornaments from our childhood (gifts or ones we created) and we still hang them all up on the tree. Some years when we have a smaller tree, it gets tough to fit everything! But, it’s great to just reminisce as you hang each one (and of course sing Christmas carols!).

  12. Mochachino, Latte, Chai Tea, Light,
    Starbucks makes the holidays bright.
We don’t have relatives that are close but when they do come I appreciate it for my children. I want my children to have that history in their lives.

  13. I like relaxing with my family without having to rush off anywhere. We can take our time and don’t have anything scheduled.

  14. Like you, I have the best intentions for all of my decorating. But, my one and three year olds make that difficult! My favorite thing at this stage in my life is sitting with my kids, listening to Christmas music, and reading Christmas books.

  15. the time has come the walrus said to talk of many things of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot and whether PIGS HAVE WINGS. Love the pigs with wings ornament and Lewis Carroll. Oh and maybe an Alice in wonderland tree? Love the ornaments, your blog and your trees!

  16. I love having some time to relax and catch up with old friends. Living so far from my hometown can be hard, and the holidays are a great reason to get together.

  17. What I like most about spending time with family is just that. Spending time with them. My family and I live several hours away from our respective families, so when we do get together, it is always special!

  18. What I love best is being all together. With family being out of town/state it isn’t always easy to get together but when we do for the Holidays it always calls for a fun time with lots of memories being shared and love all around.

  19. The thing I like best is just being together. Everyone lives away from each other and its great to see everyone and wonderful to watch the girls interact with each other, too.

  20. I love the memories and the feelings of fondly remebering those who are no longer with us. As the years go by, those memories become more and more precious.

  21. My family is very small (my sister and I are the only grandchildren on both sides!) and we all live in the same town, so we always see lots of each other all year long.

  22. My family is like WikiLeaks when they get together. There is always some story that comes out regardless if you really wanted to know this information or not. But it is fun, full of laughs and allows me to know I am not the crazy one in the family.

  23. We don’t have to do anything special — just being together is precious. But, I do like to watch a Christmas movie together or go look at Christmas lites.

  24. I wish my house looked more like Christmas. Your decorations are amazing. One day, I hope will accumulate enough to turn my whole house into a winter wonderland.

  25. I enjoy the looks on my girls’ faces when they see the lights in the neighborhoods. I’m also working on showing them that giving is just as good, if not better, than receiving.

  26. I love being with family on the holidays because everyone seems to have set aside work, cleaning, etc to be together and enjoy playing games, baking, doing crafts with the kids. It is always so much fun!

  27. Love time with family all the time . But Holidays seems like everyone is more jolly and the children are so much fun.

  28. I love baking cookies with the kids, and delivering them together to people we love! We even bring some to shelters.

  29. Hooray, a Starbucks card!!! I love watching the Nutcracker Ballet marathon on the Ovation channel on Christmas Eve with my mom and little sister (dad skips out, lol). We have been doing it for the past few years, and it never gets old! Thanks for the giveaway!

  30. I love seeing my parents and my daughter spend time together. They don’t get to that often, so it is extra sweet to see it during the holidays. Love making traditions too!

  31. Going to college definitely makes me appreciate being with my family even more. I just love being around people who I always have fun with

  32. We’ll be missing a few at Christmas this year – some are traveling to Texas and some have left us for good. It’s good to get us all together whenever possible as the kids grow up too fast, and we don’t spend enough time together outside of the holidays.

  33. I love spending time with my family, talk about what we did in the past year, and seeing my little cousins grow bigger and bigger. We play games and visit city attractions.

  34. I love the laughs and fun with the family at my grandmother’s and spending time with my 2 yr old niece. Ir’s always a blast

  35. This is one of the few times a year that we get to visit my fiance’s family. So it’s great just to be able to spend a week with them and catch up!
