Q: How did you get so many pinterest followers?
A: i wish i had a better answer for you, but i honestly have no freakin' idea. in november of 2011 i started getting emails from pinterest literally every minute ... you have a new pin, you have a new follower, you have a new comment, etc. for a while. the number of followers i had was frozen at around 400 even though i was getting these emails constantly. then in late december i downloaded the pinterest app to my iPhone and discovered i had over 90,000 followers! Since then it just keeps growing rapidly. a few facebook and blogger friends mentioned that pinterest sends out emails making suggestions of who to follow. they also make recommendations of who to follow when you join. my best guess is that somehow my name was on that list. now, i assume that whenever i pin something my name travels with that pin and people follow from there. my point to all of this is there is no pinterest secret. but, if i ever do figure it out, i will let you know.
